Exfoliation Essentials

Exfoliate like an esthetician with two new formulas that deliver smoother, brighter, clearer, & more even-looking skin.

Why do we need to exfoliate?

Exfoliation clears away the build-up of dead cells on our skin that create a rough, dry, congested, aged look. As a whole, this process can enhance your entire skincare routine, allowing other formulas to better absorb. But depending on which exfoliant you choose, you can also target and improve almost any skin concern.

Introducing 2 NEW Exfoliants to level-up your skincare routine!

Wake Up Radiant AHA Peel

“Rejuvenate, Brighten & Smooth”

This creamy, leave-on overnight treatment visibly rejuvenates skin with a 19% acid complex made up of five Alpha Hydroxy Acids [AHAs], Phytic Acid, Pumpkin Enzymes, and a Pea & Glucosamine Compound. Formulated for results, it brightens the look of dull, discolored skin, reduces the look of lines & wrinkles, and smooths the look of roughness. Thanks to several different molecule sizes, this formula delivers a major impact while being easier to tolerate.

Refine it! 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

“Refine, Clarify, and Even”

This lightweight, leave-on liquid exfoliant combines 2% Salicylic Acid [BHA] with a Bioactive Tropical Fruit Complex for real skin clarity. Packed with skin-loving vitamins and antioxidants, this formula clings to oil, helping visibly unclog pores, improve the look of breakouts and redness, smooth the look of bumpy texture, and fade the look of discoloration. If tolerated, for enhanced results, it can be used both day and night – but not layered with other exfoliants like our AHA.

Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical Exfoliation uses acids and enzymes like AHAs, BHAs, and fruit acids to break down the “glue” that binds dead skin cells together – revealing the fresh, bouncy cells hiding underneath. Unlike physical exfoliants, these offer deeper skin benefits. Chemical exfoliants can help improve the look of lines, dark spots, wrinkles, sun damage, and breakouts while visibly smoothing away rough & bumpy texture.

AHAs are water-soluble acids derived from fruits, milk, nuts, and sugar cane. They work on the surface of the skin to clear away the build up of dead skin cells that happens with age. Glycolic and lactic acids are especially powerful when it comes to smoothing the look of lines and visibly brightening the complexion. But Tropical Fruit Acids like banana, mango, and hog plum are favorites for protecting the moisture barrier for resurfacing with less irritation.

Phytic Acid is a gentle exfoliating acid and antioxidant fairly new to skincare. With the rejuvenating powers of glycolic acid and brightening abilities of Vitamin C, this acid is also incredibly soothing and easy to tolerate. By visibly clearing out pores and supporting the skin’s natural renewal process, this ingredient helps the skin look smoother, brighter, and more even.

BHA, aka salicylic acid, is an exfoliant ideal for normal, combination, oily, & breakout-prone skin. Thanks to the oil-loving nature of this acid, it helps clear out dead cells and excess oil from pores for a visibly clearer, more refined complexion. This unique mode of action is key to battling breakouts and oversized, congested pores.

Fruit Acids are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and nutrients, allowing them to offer a wide range of skin-supporting benefits. Our hand-picked selection of fruit acids combine enzyme exfoliation with AHA exfoliation to dramatically improve the look of any complexion. Powerful skin perfectors, these ingredients visibly clear pores, soothe the look of breakouts, brighten and even the look of discoloration, smooth the look of lines, wrinkles, and rough skin, and support visible skin hydration.

How do I integrate these exfoliants into my routine?

Wake Up Radiant AHA Peel
During your nightly routine, after cleansing the skin, apply a thin layer of the Wake Up Radiant AHA Peel, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Follow with the Dramatically Dewy Serum and other soothing serums, and finish with Brilliant Barrier Water Cream. Apply 1-3x per week maximum. Do not apply in the same routine as retinol. Always wear sunscreen.

Refine it! BHA Liquid Exfoliant
During your day and night routine, after cleansing the skin, apply a thin layer of the Refine It! BHA Liquid Exfoliant, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Follow with your desired serums and finish with moisturizer and SPF. Start by using 1-3x per week, working up to daily use if desired. Do not apply in the same routine as retinol. Always wear sunscreen.

Can the AHA and the BHA be used in the same day? BHA in the morning and AHA in the evening?

Hi Erin,

You may choose one exfoliation product in your skincare routine and typically exfoliation products should only be used 1x per day.

Hi. I bought the trio, and the toner. I have a couple of questions; before I purchased “go pure “ I was using a separate vitamin c that I was pretty happy with, should I continue to use it even though there’s vitamin c in the brighten & even serum?
Also I have a prescription for tretinoin niacinamide, should I continue to use it? And how do I alternate w the exfoliants? Because I’m about to buy them lol.
Thanks

Hello Kristin, Some people like to apply multiple Vitamin C products especially if they are in different forms for best results and you can also try that. You can alternate your Tretinoin, Firm and Lift serum and exfoliants as they cannot be applied together on the same night.

Curious how these would be incorporated along with prescription Retin-A

Thanks for your inquiry, Andrea! We do not recommend applying any exfoliation product on the same night you are using your Retn-A. You can try to alternate them every other night and always do a patch test when applying any new products.

I want to continue using retinol 3 nights a week. Can I use the BHA in the mornings before I use retinol?
